What is a Time and Date Calculator?
A Time and Date Calculator is a browser-based tool that combines a live clock with practical date and time calculation features. It shows your current local time on a real-time analog watch and a digital display, while offering tools to calculate the difference between two dates, add or subtract time, convert between time zones, work out someone's exact age and count working days between any two dates.
All calculations run in your browser — no account or sign-up is needed.
How to check your current local time
- Open this page. The tool reads your browser's time zone automatically.
- The analog clock and digital display update every second.
- The Location Details panel shows your detected time zone and UTC offset.
- Optionally click "Use My Location" to see more precise location details, including city, state and coordinates.
- To view a different city's time, click "Change Time Zone" and search for any IANA time zone.
How to calculate days between two dates
Open the Date Difference tab. Enter a start date and an end date. Click "Calculate difference." The tool shows the total number of days, weeks, months, weekdays and weekends between the two dates.
Example: From 15 October 2026 to 31 December 2026 is 77 days — 55 weekdays and 22 weekend days across 11 weeks and 1 day.
How to add or subtract days from a date
Open the Add / Subtract tab. Enter a start date, choose whether to add or subtract, then enter any combination of years, months, weeks, days, hours and minutes. The result shows the exact resulting date and day of the week.
Examples: Adding 30 days to 1 November 2026 gives 1 December 2026. Subtracting 7 days gives 25 October 2026. Adding 3 months to 31 January 2027 correctly gives 30 April 2027, handling month-end dates.
How does the time zone converter work?
The Time Zone Converter tab uses your browser's built-in Intl.DateTimeFormat API with named IANA time zones such as Asia/Kolkata, America/New_York and Europe/London. Enter a date and time, select the source time zone and the destination time zone. The tool shows the converted time, the UTC offset for each zone and whether daylight-saving time is active.
What is the difference between local time and UTC?
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the global reference for time. Local time is UTC adjusted for your time zone. India Standard Time (IST) is UTC+05:30, meaning when it is 12:00 UTC, it is 17:30 IST. Unlike many countries, India does not observe daylight-saving time, so IST remains at UTC+05:30 year-round.
How are working days calculated?
The Working Days calculator counts calendar days between two dates, then subtracts weekend days (Saturday and Sunday by default) and any public or custom holidays you specify. The result shows total calendar days, working days, weekend days and holiday exclusions. You can customise which days of the week are treated as weekends — useful for countries where the working week differs from the Monday-to-Friday convention.
